About Us
Hideout Mountain also known as San Diego Mountain Lodge is just an hour from downtown San Diego near Julian. Enjoy a leisurely drive through the rolling hills of San Diego's back country. This private rustic getaway invites couples, friends, and families to slow down and savor the moment.
Surrounded by twinkling lights, glowing fire pits, and beautiful mountain views, guests can enjoy cozy gathering spaces, warm cocoa, evening bonfires, the county’s highest ice rink, and candle-lit igloo dining under the stars.

The experience takes place at Hideout Mountain Lodge, just about an hour from San Diego.
We take care of everything else — meals, entertainment, activities, flowers, chocolate, and wine.

1. Where is Winter Splendor located?
Hideout Mountain (San Diego Mountain Lodge), 27413 California 76, Santa Ysabel, CA 92070 — 5 miles from Julian.
2. How long are skating sessions?
Each session lasts 45 minutes, with up to 60 skaters per session.
3. Do I need to buy tickets in advance?
Yes, all tickets must be purchased ahead of time. No cash is accepted on site.
4. Do I need to pay extra for ice skating?
No! Ice skating is included. You can bring your own skates or use ours.
5. Can we bring pets?
We generally allow pets, but during Valentine’s Weekend we ask that you refrain from bringing them. Service animals are always welcome.
6. What about alcohol or BYOB?
We have a full-service restaurant bar on site, and you’re also welcome to bring your own beverages if you like.
7. What is included in the experience?
You can do as much or as little as you want! Enjoy a variety of activities, from skating to scavenger hunts, snacks, drinks, and a 3-course meal with plenty of options.
8. What should I wear?
Dress in layers, with long pants and closed-toe shoes. Most activities are outdoors, so be prepared for changing temperatures.
9. Is food included?
Yes! Snacks, fruit, drinks, and a 3-course meal with lots of options are included. Please let us know any dietary restrictions in advance.
10. Is there parking available?
Yes! Plenty of free parking is available on site.
11. Are children allowed?
During Valentine’s Weekend, we aim to keep the retreat quiet and serene, so we ask that guests plan for adults-only during that time. At all other times, children are more than welcome—we love having them!
12. Are towels, blankets, or other supplies provided?
Yes! All our overnight units are fully equipped with everything you need, including towels, blankets, and corkscrews. Our campsite and glamping sites include bathroom access, plenty of firewood for bonfires, and s’mores kits for everyone. Seating, dishes, and cups are also provided—we’ve thought of everything to make your weekend truly special.
